Ranveer Singh's 83: Marshall's Son Mali's Bouncer Almost Hit The Reel-Life Vengsarkar On His Head
A major accident was averted on the sets of 83 when Malcolm Marshall's son ran into bowl to Addinath M Kothare, who plays Dilip Vengsarkar
Ace batsman Dilip Vengsarkar couldn’t play the finals of the '83 World Cup following an injury on the field while facing a bouncer by Malcolm Marshall. Well, seems Malcolm Marshall's son Mali couldn't forget that when he was running in to bowl to Addinath M Kothare, who essays Vengarkar in the upcoming Ranveer Singh starrer 83.
Kabir Khan had directed Mali to bowl wide at Addinath and not as he actually would on a cricket field. But guess Mali's genes were running very strong in him the moment he marked his run-up. According to Kabir in a chat with Boman Irani for FStop, that particular delivery would have hit Addinath on his head, if Addinath hadn't swayed away just in the nick of time!
Yes, this happened when Kabir shot 83. It has not been an easy film to shoot because Kabir has gone far deeper into the World Cup than just what happened on the field.
83 was supposed to release this summer, but now we'll have to wait for this film which promises to be great fun. This Kabir Khan directorial also stars Deepika Padukone. While Ranveer plays Kapil Dev, Deepika will get into Romi Bhatia's shoes.
